The former coach of the Russian national football team, Guus Hiddink, told RB Sport that a generation of football players more talented than the 2008 era has not yet appeared in the country.
Hiddink led the Russian national team in 2006-2010, under his leadership the team reached the semi-finals of the 2008 European Championship.
– In Russia, a generation more talented than the era of 2008 has not yet appeared. Those players were very strong. I do not think that in the near future the level of Russian football players will increase. In the context of the removal of teams from European competition, this is impossible, said Hiddink.
