Messi and Mbappe will compete for another trophy – the award for the best player of the year according to FIFA
PSG players Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappe are among the nominees for the FIFA World Player of the Year 2022 award, according to the press service of the organization.
Voting will begin on Thursday, January 12th. The winner will be announced at the official FIFA ceremony on 27 February.
Also on the list are Neymar, Ashraf Hakimi (both PSG), Vinicius, Luka Modric, Karim Benzema (all Real Madrid), Erling Haaland, Kevin de Bruyne, Julian Alvarez (all Manchester City), Mohamed Salah (Liverpool), Sadio Mane (Bayern), Robert Lewandowski (Barcelona) and Jude Bellingham (Borussia).
Messi in the Argentina national team won the 2022 World Cup, Mbappe won the silver medal with the French team, in the final match they played each other.
