Ural head coach Viktor Gancharenko spoke about the circumstances of his return to the Yekaterinburg club.

Previously, the specialist headed Ural in 2015, after which he moved to work at CSKA. On August 15, 2022, the Belarusian returned to the Yekaterinburg team again.

– Time runs. In life, something changes, but you keep the relationship. I had great memories of Yekaterinburg, the club has changed, new players. This is a completely blank slate, we start everything from scratch, we try to do something.

My last departure from Ural did not affect my relationship with Ivanov. We almost immediately began to communicate – after two or three months. There was no conflict between us.

How was I invited this time? A funny story. I have been to many countries because of work, but all my friends advised me to go to Kamchatka. When the well-known situation began, when the planes began to fly not the way we all want, I decided to go there. They flew in August. It’s wonderful there! With friends in tents lived on the Pacific coast. And here we are, and one day Grigory Viktorovich calls me: “Well, come on, come!”.

And I’m in Kamchatka, eight hours from Moscow. I think: “Damn, what to do?” But Viktorovich, after a minute of conversation, says: “Well, now we will play in Voronezh, and after that, come.” I just had time to rest in Kamchatka for a week, although during this time Ivanov called several more times, we discussed something. But he didn’t ask where I was. And I didn’t speak. Then he flew from Kamchatka to Moscow, spent the night – and immediately went to Yekaterinburg.

We’ve known each other for too long. Half an hour was enough to agree on everything, – quotes the words of Gancharenko “Championship”.
