Is the Moscow club right to keep silent?
There was no “Starostin case”
Spartak pretended there weren’t two unrelated criminal investigations in which Quincy appears. At the same time, the defenders of the club, such as the former president FC “Moscow” Belousa, accepted this:
It did not affect Spartak in any way that Nikolai Petrovich Starostin spent ten years in the camps. The fact that Yuri Sevidov served time was not reflected in any way.
First, Nikolai Starostin served two years. One of the versions of the “amnesty” – Vasily Stalin stood up for him. Secondly, the three Starostin brothers served ten years in prison. Thirdly, those crackdowns have nothing to do with the Promes cases.
The “Starostin case” was invented. We know this, because the documents have been declassified. Stalin did not like the answer of Starostin Kosarev’s friend to the question of “enemies of the people” among Komsomol members. There were no enemies, forced to invent.
There have been arrests. During interrogations, the detainees gave the same testimony. Allegedly, on May 1, 1937, the founder of Spartak decided to kill Stalin, blow him up and shoot him at the mausoleum for safety. The court was not embarrassed that there had been no attempt.
Some of the “witnesses” were tortured and shot. Nikolai, Andrei and Peter Starostin were arrested in March 1942, another brother, Alexander – a year later. Tried for terrorism, planning to execute fictitious “traitors to the Fatherland”.
One of the allegations appears to be true. In a country where people were starving, the brothers sold things through Spartak and shaved the pool table. But they reduced everything to “propaganda and agitation containing a call for the overthrow and weakening of power.”
Why did it take 75 years to hide documents? The “thing” is shameful. They shot people associated with sports in Moscow and Leningrad. The young men were thrown into the fields. The most famous were released, the rest were imprisoned for 8-10 years.
The arrests hit Spartak hard. The red and white did not win the championship for eight years after the war, even though before that they had won three out of six cups. Starostin always accused Beria of envy, although there were much more envious people.
A medical error cost Sevidov his career
Streltsov was imprisoned for 12 years on an incomprehensible rape charge in 1958. He served five years, lost his golden years. The boring party workers of the Central Committee envied the athletes. They went on a business trip. Young, stately, women adore them.
The athletes themselves loved vodka and meetings with stars. Here in the Central Committee from time to time they looked for a reason for public flogging. Yuri Sevidov didn’t play as well as Streltsov, but he scored a lot for Spartak. He was champion and winner of several seasons, he won the Cup.
But in 1965, a twenty-three-year-old attacker driving a car hit a man on Kotelnicheskaya Embankment. It turned out to be the whole academician Ryabchikov, who was drinking with a friend and went home by tram, although usually the pharmacist was taken in a company car.
Sevidov was not necessarily sober either. The 60-year-old professor broke his leg during the crossing. The football player could have escaped with a scare, but the student-professional misdiagnosed the patient, injected anesthesia, and the academic died. Sevidov paid 10 years in prison.
The leadership of Spartak, including Simonyan, was expelled. They forgot about the titles for a while. Sevidov was released from prison four years later: they were pardoned, but his career was ruined. Even his story does not justify Promes and the silence of Spartak.
Belousov made a mistake, both times criminal cases hit the club. But Starostin was not going to blow up anyone Stalin, and Sevidov broke a pedestrian’s leg car crash. This is a crime, but not ten years in prison. Promes has a worse history, in case bandits of the most “rotten” role appear.
Spartak is afraid of losing the foreman
Promes trains with the youth, refusing to fly to training camp. I was afraid that the authorities United Arab Emirates, who have signed agreements on the extradition of people related to drug trafficking, extradites him to the Netherlands. There are two criminal charges pending.
Lawyers say that if a famous person is in the news feed for seven days or more, then they are dead. The cycle lasts for six days, if a new high-profile reason appears, the focus changes, the flow of hate subsides and the lawyers can work.
Promes will be in the spotlight in the Netherlands until it appears in court. An innocent person has no reason to hide: such logic. In his cousin’s case, he gets about 2 years in prison. A civil suit found Quincy guilty and awarded damages.
But prosecutors are unlikely to demonstrate intent. Charged with attempted manslaughter. But there are telephone conversations as part of another case. And there are two corpses, as they said in Rotterdam. In 2019, 400 kilograms of cocaine were stolen from the Surinamese Wortel.
The search for the thieves has begun. Two people were killed, among them: former Antwerp footballer Maynard and a young boy. Former players are often involved in drug trafficking. Police admit Promes was foolish enough to invest in assets.
The court will find out the details. Maybe Worthel thought Quincy’s cronies were connected to the theft? They found a payment of 250 thousand euros: it seems an attempt to repay so as not to become the next one. The main person involved in the case does not like the presence of a football star nearby.
But the goal of the prosecutors is clear: Promes is persuaded to testify in exchange for an agreement with the investigation. It seems that Spartak is silent, because everything is bad. 400 kilos of cocaine is not a bag of marijuana. Two dead bodies aren’t drunk driving.
Suppose Muscovites were deceived. When Promes returned, there was talk of a void clause if Quincey was jailed over his cousin’s case. But the player’s agent almost certainly covered up the double homicide and cocaine theft case.
They say Spartak will not be affected by Promes’ problems. But Quincy will miss training camp, that’s bad enough. Abascal will not attract a footballer of this class to Moscow. Alas, hiding behind the repressed Starostins is extremely immoral.
As well as remembering Sevidov, convicted of a murder he did not commit. Promes, being a successful multi-millionaire, dated bad people. He acted like a 90s rapper. The extent of his participation will be shown by the court, but his deeds are dark and time is long.
