Leonid Slutsky, who, after leaving Rubin, is without a club, has lost his way as a coach, commentator Gennady Orlov believes.
– Slutsky lost as a coach. And it didn’t start today. In Holland he was lost, in England he was lost. After joining Rubin, he even led the team to European competitions, but then everything went wrong for him. Stability is a sign of class. He didn’t have it. He is lost as a coach. He knows football superbly, but that’s not enough for a coach. You need charisma and the ability to bring people together. Will he be able to find a job soon? Everything depends only on him,” Orlov told Sport24.
Throughout his career, the 51-year-old Slutsky has worked with teams such as Uralan, FC Moscow, Krylya Sovetov, CSKA, Hull City, Vitesse. From 2015 to 2016 he coached the Russian national team.
