Karpin reacted to the failed transfer of the RFU to the Asian Football Confederation
The head coach of the Russian national team Valery Karpin said that he had no opinion on the failed transition of the Russian Football Union (RFU) to the Asian Football Confederation (AFC).
The Executive Committee of the RFU at the end of December postponed the decision on a possible transition to the AFC. On Friday, it became known that on January 24, representatives of the RFU will meet with colleagues from the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) to discuss the issue of the return of Russian clubs and teams to international tournaments.
– Yesterday it became known that the RFU is holding a meeting with UEFA. What do you expect from her?
– The question is not for me. I look forward to the meeting. I don’t expect anything else, ”Match TV quotes Karpin.
– Our transition to Asia did not take place. Glad it didn’t happen so hastily?
— I have no opinion on this matter, because I do not know the situation. Whether that’s good or bad, we’ll see.
At the end of February 2022, the International Football Federation (FIFA) and UEFA suspended Russian teams and clubs from participating in international tournaments.
