The head coach of Orenburg, Marcel Lichka, said that he did not move to a similar position at Krasnodar, as he did not want to feel pressure from the leadership of the new team.
Earlier, the media reported that Lichka could head Krasnodar after the departure of Alexander Storozhuk. Subsequently, the Serb Vladimir Ivic became the new head coach of the Bulls.
– Because of the “family approach” you decided to stay in Orenburg, refusing the offer of Krasnodar?
I don’t think that’s the main factor. The main thing is that I feel freedom in Orenburg. In a big club, for example, in Spartak or any other, there is a lot of pressure from outside. And you, as a coach, do not do the work that you want, but sit and listen to what they say to you from above: “Marcel, you need to do this and that.” And you will be forced to bend. I don’t think it’s right to go there. And this applies not only to Krasnodar and Spartak, this applies to many top clubs, even in the Czech Republic or Turkey. I have a different philosophy, and I implement it in Orenburg.
– I see in your words a direct allusion to the owner of Krasnodar. We all know how Sergei Galitsky likes to communicate with the head coach of the team.
“No, no, of course not. I do not hide, we had a conversation on this topic, but I referred to the contract with Orenburg. The point is this. Vasily Petrovich (Eremyakin, president of Orenburg) was not against it, he did not forbid me to leave, but he said: “Marcel, please, we found the right way with you. And I wanted to work with you at least until the end of the year.” How could I refuse him? Orenburg gave me a chance to prove myself in Russia, good results here allowed me to regain my self-confidence. And I would like to thank the club in the same way, I could not leave him halfway.
– Closing the topic of Krasnodar: is it true that you were offered a salary 2.5 times more there?
We didn’t talk about salary. My first question in such negotiations is what do you want? What is the philosophy of the club, the team? And we don’t talk about money. Therefore, this is not true: Krasnodar did not make me any offer or something like that, there were only football conversations, – the Match TV website quotes Lichka.
After 17 matches of the current season MIR RPL Orenburg is in seventh place in the table, Krasnodar is next. Both teams have 25 points each.
