The leadership of the Moscow “Locomotive” should not put obstacles for the transfer of midfielder Dmitry Barinov to the Turkish “Besiktas”, says former Russian national team player Sergei Kiryakov.

Earlier, Match TV reported that Besiktas sent a request for the transfer of Barinov in the amount of 1.2 million euros. On January 22, the head of the Lokomotiv press service, Artem Zagumennov, told Match TV that the Moscow club was not satisfied with this offer. The Red-Greens plan to release the player for no less than 15 million euros – the money prescribed as a release clause in his contract. “Championship” claims that the Istanbul club subsequently offered 5 million euros for Barinov.

— I don’t know about internal problems. But if the club really creates obstacles, it would be better if Lokomotiv gave Barinov the opportunity to leave. It comes first when a player himself expresses a desire to leave for a European club. We need to prepare a transfer and try to earn. As practice shows, there is nothing good when a football player is forcibly detained, asked to stay. Everything will turn out for the worse, both for the player and for the club.

– Is Besiktas a step forward for Barinov?

– Definitely, yes. He’s played enough here. If there is an opportunity to go to the club of the Turkish championship, we must do it. Again, I don’t really believe this. The departure of our players is a problematic topic. But exceptions are everywhere. And if it is, probably, the club needs to make sure that the player leaves. Barinov has played 16 matches this season, scoring a goal and scoring an assist. The midfielder is a graduate of Lokomotiv. He has been playing for the main team of railway workers since the summer of 2016.
