Roman Shishkin, a former football player of the Russian national team, the capital’s Spartak and Lokomotiv, believes that Khimki is unworthy of playing in the top division of the Russian championship.
Khimki, after 17 rounds of the WORLD RPL, is in the penultimate place in the standings with 12 points. On Wednesday, the Dispute Resolution Chamber of the Russian Football Union imposed a ban on the club from registering new players due to a debt to an intermediary. In addition, Khimki were fined for non-compliance with previous decisions of the chamber. Sanctions provide for fines in the amount of 100 thousand to one million rubles, in case of delay in the execution of the decision for more than six months from the date of entry into force and subject to the fourth or subsequent statement of the party to the dispute (case) about the fact of non-execution of the relevant decision – the removal of three tournament points.
– Khimki is doing really badly – they are sinking. It all started at the beginning of this season. The fish rots from the head. Everyone understands where these problems come from. The constant change of leadership does not lead to good things. Recently, there have been a lot of rumors around the players, all sorts of different debts. There are many questions to the owner of the club. The situation is aggravated, but it was very expected. I see no reason to torture Russian football with such clubs. This club has more football-related topics than football ones. Khimki has no place in the RPL. They don’t match the level of the league. I am not surprised at anything – everything is natural, – Shishkin said to the Championship.
The 2022/23 season in Russia will resume with FONBET Russian Cup matches, which will begin on February 22. The WORLD RPL season will resume on March 3. Broadcasts of RPL and Russian Cup matches can be watched on the Match TV federal channel, as well as on the thematic channels of the holding and on matchtv.ru and sportbox.ru websites.
