Ajax have sacked Alfred Schroeder as manager due to poor results this season.
“This is a painful but necessary decision. After a good start to the season, we lost a lot of points. The game was also unstable. In recent weeks it has become increasingly clear that he cannot turn the tide when we believe he had a strong and championship-worthy team at his disposal. Unfortunately, we haven’t seen any progress,” Ajax CEO Edwin van der Sar was quoted as saying by the club’s press service.
Schroeder will take charge of Ajax in 2022. Amsterdam are in fifth place in the current standings of the Dutch championship, the team cannot win seven games in a row.
