Rostov striker Yegor Golenkov assessed the level of football infrastructure in Portugal.

The footballer was part of Leiria from 2017 to 2018.

– After the Wings base, I got used to slightly different conditions – I just had to train there. In Leiria, the field was five kilometers from the house. It was artificial, of terrible quality – in Russia they play on such in the LFL. At first I ran this distance every day, then I bought myself a bicycle. And after a while, because of the artificial turf, injuries began.

I was in doubles with Ovsyannikov. Of course, we were promised that we would be in the main team, but in fact – no. The base had a good stadium, they played in the third league, and we ran on an artificial field.

Probably the main positive thing is that I learned Portuguese. Somehow I caught myself thinking that I know Portuguese better than English. But now it will be difficult to speak it, I can’t, like in English, ”Golenkov told the Championship.

This season, the WORLD RPL, the 23-year-old player has played 17 matches without scoring a single goal.
