“Training Russians is difficult” – Carrera

Former Spartak head coach Massimo Carrera told RB Sport how he perceives Russian football.

– How would I answer a person who would ask me a question, what is Russian football? I would say that the RPL is a high-level league, there are teams with a great history, and there were and still are cool Russian and foreign players. I would also note that training Russians is a difficult process, and getting to know the culture of their country is pleasant and exciting,” Carrera said.

Under the guidance of the Italian specialist, Spartak won gold medals in the Russian Championship in the 2016/17 season for the first time in 16 years.

Winline Winter Cup RPL will be held in the UAE from February 2 to 11. Four teams will play at the tournament – Spartak, Sochi, Rostov and Krasnodar. All matches of the tournament will be shown live on Match TV and Match PREMIER TV channels, commentators are Konstantin Genich and Dmitry Shnyakin.
