Kalachev said that he was not called to the main team of “Rostov”

Chaika coach Timofey Kalachev told RB Sport that he had not received any offers to join the coaching staff of Valery Karpin in Rostov.

Kalachev in January 2020 was appointed to the position of head coach of the Rostov Academy, which he left in 2021.

— Initially, I understood that I wanted to work with a professional team, — says Kalachev. – And planned. But it happened. At that time, Roman Adamov headed the Rostov academy and suggested that I try. So I went to work. The experience is definitely positive. But I realized that it’s not really mine. Working with children is different. Often more difficult than with professional teams. Therefore, when an offer was received from the “Seagull”, he accepted it with pleasure. I’m more comfortable here.

– “Rostov” did not offer a position in the main team as an assistant?

Didn’t offer. But this is logical. Karpin has formed his own coaching staff, they give results, so there is no point in changing anything.

Rostov scored 35 points in 17 matches of the current season and left for the winter break, being in third place in the standings. The Yellow-Blues are 7 points behind the leading Zenit.
