Former Dynamo Moscow sports director Roman Oreshchuk assessed the possible departure of the Brazilian Zenit striker Malcolm to the French Paris Saint-Germain, noting that in this case Zelimkhan Bakaev should take the lead.
Earlier, the head coach of Zenit Sergey Semak confirmed the information about the interest of PSG in Malcolm.
– Probably, Malcolm’s departure to PSG will be a loss, but there is Bakaev who can play in this position. So let’s see what Bakaev is worth. Of course, they will lose quality, but I don’t think they will drop much.
Why did they buy Bakaev? Sit on the bench? I think you and I would have sat on the bench just as well for the money he receives. Maybe they would even sit better, at least smile, – Oreshchuk told Metaratings.ru.
Malcom has been playing for Zenit since the summer of 2019. The 25-year-old Brazilian has made 23 appearances this season, scoring 15 goals and providing seven assists.
The Russian football season will resume on February 22 with the matches of the FONBET Cup of Russia, on March 3 the WORLD RPL will continue.
