PSG coach clarifies misunderstandings about team captaincy
PSG head coach Christophe Galtier has clarified the captaincy hierarchy in the team after a misunderstanding between Presnel Kimpembe and Kylian Mbappe.
In the French Cup match against the Pays de Cassels club, Kimpembe, previously the second captain, did not wear the armband, despite the fact that the captain Marquinhos remained on the bench. As a result, Mbappe received the captain’s armband.
It was a communication error on my part. I didn’t convey my message clearly enough. I meant that Mbappe was one of the second captains. He is just like Kimpembe, Verratti and Sergio Ramos. Marquinhos is the best choice. I personally spoke to Presnel to explain the situation to him,” Galtier said.
The Parisian club defeated the Pays de Cassel with a score of 7:0. Mbappe scored five goals in the meeting.
