Venice midfielder Denis Cheryshev told Sport24 that he received offers from clubs from Russia last summer.
At the end of last season, the 32-year-old Russian became a free agent due to the end of his contract with Valencia.
— Invited to Russia?
– They called. There were suggestions, yes. A few of them are quite persistent. But with those clubs where I wanted to go, in the end it didn’t work out.
– Recently, there was information in the press that Russian clubs are still interested in you, and that you can leave Venice. This is true?
— No, I don’t know. We also did not discuss this point with the coach. Everything suits me in the team, I want to benefit it. I didn’t even think about other options for continuing my career.
This season, Cheryshev played 10 matches for Venice, scored 3 goals and gave 1 assist.
