The head coach of the “blue-white-blue” Sergei Semak last week said that there was interest in Malcolm from the French club, but the matter did not come to concrete proposals. According to the specialist, the player is ready to fully fulfill his obligations to Zenit.

I had a correspondence and conversation with the president of the Parisian club, Mr. Nasser Al-Khelaifi. During this communication, we discussed the conditions under which Malcolm’s transfer to PSG would be possible. Al-Khelaifi heard these conditions and noticed that in the current situation, apparently related to the financial fair play and the high costs of PSG regarding Messi, the option of a full-fledged transfer this winter is not preferable for them. In such a situation, PSG would be interested in renting a football player. Which, of course, does not suit Zenith.
After that, we did not receive any new offer from the Parisian club. Therefore, we consider the story of Malcolm’s transfer to PSG in this transfer window closed. I would like to especially note that PSG did not succumb to the devilish temptation – very dubious from a legal point of view, not to mention the ethical side of the matter – to push the player to terminate the contract.
Malcolm has been playing for Zenit since 2019. The 25-year-old Brazilian has scored 15 goals and provided seven assists in 23 games this season.
