In a match in which Barcelona went from less to more, raphinha opened the scoring midway through the second half and Robert Lewandowskion his return to La Liga after a three-game layoff, he appeared to calm Barca with his second goal, but Betis pressed on in the end with an own goal scored by Jules Coude.
This match had been postponed due to the participation of the two teams in the Spanish Super Cup held in Saudi Arabia. That match, also with a goal by Lewandowski, ended in a 2-2 draw and a 4-2 win for the Blaugrana on penalties.
