Juventus could still lose points.
Italian Football Federation (FIGC) continues to investigate Torino’s financial fraud linked to players’ salaries during the pandemic. It was reported that the chief prosecutor of the federation will ask to remove at least 20 points from the team.
The case was expected to be closed on January 29, but due to the discovery of new documents, the prosecutor’s office asked to extend the investigation period for another 40 days. The verdict is expected to be announced in March. At the same time, it should be noted that launching the investigation after the deadline could become one of the arguments in favor of Juventus’ defence.
Juventus is in 13th place in Serie A (23 points).
