“Perhaps Mourinho’s time has passed” – Adebayor

Former Arsenal, Tottenham and Real Madrid striker Emmanuel Adebayor believes coach Jose Mourinho has a unique vision for football.

– Mourinho is different, not like everyone else. He has an absolutely unique vision of football: building defense, developing attacks, mentality. I stayed in Madrid for only six months, but I listened carefully to every training session, memorized every word. Yes, I didn’t work with him for so long, but I think that Jose is one of those coaches who influenced me the most.

Does it feel like Mourinho’s time is up? Perhaps. But let’s not forget how many trophies he won, what teams he left in history. José gave football new ideas, other coaches learned his methods. This proves that he is one of the best,” said Adebayor “Championship”.

Adebayor will perform at the “Legends Cup”, which will be held in Moscow from 10 to 12 February. Group A will feature Legends of Russia, Legends of Latin America and Legends of Europe. Group B included the All-Star Team, African Legends and CIS Legends.

Watch live broadcasts of the Legends Cup matches on the Match TV federal channel and the thematic channels of the holding, as well as on matchtv.ru and sportbox.ru websites

Anatoly TRUBIN: “Rebrov decided to sacrifice him”

Goalkeeper of the Ukrainian national team Anatoly Trubin I remembered the match against France (0:4) when Sergei Rebrov released the semi-reserve squad.

“It was the coach’s choice. It is always the coach who decides whether the match will be sacrificed or not. If we talk about the challenge itself, we all understand the strength of France. I understood that there could be a lot of shots, there could be a lot of chances, and I was ready for it. When the opponent is always with the ball, constantly attacking, you are always in the game: you play in sections, you react, you constantly feel the rhythm.

For me personally, it’s even easier than when your team is attacking most of the time and you’re standing idle and suddenly there’s a moment where you have to be ready,” Trubin said.
