Russian striker Alexander Kokorin this season moved to the Cypriot Aris after several years of living on the bench of Fiorentina. The football player shows good performance, scoring seven goals in the local championship. Now it is the best indicator in the club. But a few years ago it was difficult to predict whether Alexander would continue to play football at a professional level.

In 2018, Kokorin, along with another football player Pavel Mamaev, became a participant in a high-profile scandal. The celebration of a decade of friendship between young people did not go according to plan. As a result, they staged two brawls with the victims in one night. Litigation led to the fact that Alexander received a year and a half in prison. Of this period, Kokorin spent only half in places of detention.

But the prison did not put an end to the professional career of a football player. After his release, the striker again played at a high level. A good performance in Sochi helped him first move to Spartak, and then to Fiorentina. True, it did not work out to play in Italy. Now the player is successfully conquering the Cypriot championship.

“Every normal man should serve time”

It would seem that playing for “Aris” in sunny Cyprus, you can completely forget about the prison experience. But Alexander, apparently, does not give rest. In a recent interview with the Super League Youtube channel, Kokorin advised all representatives of the strong half of humanity to repeat his experience in order to become a normal man.

– I once said that every normal guy and man should serve time in order to get and feel such a school. This is a life hack to bring the guys who swam to their senses for one or two months in a pre-trial detention center, ”Kokorin said.

At the same time, the football player admitted that he did not regret the experience at all, saying that for him it was “a great experience and a good school.” Kokorin also said that he would not have forked out 70 million rubles to “solve the issue” if there was such an opportunity.

— I wouldn’t. Because he was right about everything. We apologized for what we did in the fight, we did not deny it. But the article “hooligan” was hung on us. Allegedly, we are a group of people, by prior agreement with weapons, distributing roles, and came to the cafe to fight people,” Alexander said.

Kokorin even expressed a desire to return in the future to the Belgorod colony, where he served the last months of his term. True, he wants to do this not in the status of a prisoner, but as a “guest star” to hold a football match there.
