Al-Hilal beat Wydad on penalties to advance to Club World Cup semi-finals

Al-Hilal of Saudi Arabia defeated Moroccan Vidad in the quarter-finals of the FIFA Club World Cup.
The main time of the match, which took place on Saturday in Rabat, ended in a draw – 1:1. Ayoub El-Amloud scored Vidad’s goal in the 52nd minute. Nominal guests equalized in added time to the second half – Mohammed Kanno scored from the penalty spot. At the same time, midfielder Moroccans Yahya Jabran, who received two yellow cards in two minutes, was removed from the field.
In extra time, Al-Hilal lost their advantage in numbers – the second yellow card was received by the goaltender Kanno. The fate of a ticket to the semi-finals was decided in a penalty shoot-out, where the Al-Hilal players turned out to be more accurate – 5:3.

Former Khimki forward Didier Lamkel Ze took part in the match as part of Vidad. The football player played for the Moscow Region club on loan, but in March 2022 he took advantage of FIFA’s permission and suspended the contract. Now he is a player of the Belgian Kortrijk, Didier plays for Vidad on loan.
In the semi-finals on February 7, Al-Hilal will play with the Brazilian Flamengo. The last participant of the semi-final will be determined later on Saturday in the match between the Egyptian “Al-Ahli” and the “Seattle Sounders” from the USA. The winner of this pair will meet with Real Madrid.
