The President of “Orenburg”: “If Pavlyuchenko called the club, maybe they would think about this option”
President of Orenburg Vasily Eremyakin said that the club would have considered the invitation of Roman Pavlyuchenko if the striker had taken the initiative.
Earlier, Ufa CEO Shamil Gazizov told Match TV that the club had made an offer to 41-year-old Pavlyuchenko. Pavlyuchenko himself noted that he would like to score the 200th goal in his career. Later, the ex-player told Sport24 that the parties “decided to let go of this situation.” As Gazizov noted in an interview with a Match TV correspondent, the issue of a possible signing of a contract with Pavlyuchenko has not yet been closed.
– Are we interested in Pavlyuchenko? We didn’t think about it, we didn’t guess, ”Eremyakin told RB Sport. – Did he decide to resume his career or just someone writes about it? I didn’t communicate with him. If he called the club and said that he was resuming his career, he would have asked to think, maybe we would have thought. And now there is no point in talking about it.
For the past four years, Pavlyuchenko has played for the Noginsk Znamya. In October, the FTC RFU suspended the player for eight matches of the Second League for attempting to physically influence an opponent and offensive language in a match with Cosmos. After that, Pavlyuchenko announced his retirement from the team and his retirement.
