“Everyone thinks you’re a freak.” The conflict between Slutsky and Mostovoy has reached a new level

The conflict between the two legends of Russian football Leonid Slutsky and Alexander Mostovoy continues to gain momentum. The king, known for numerous negative comments about the coach, did not leave his opponent’s recent words without a harsh response. So close to a fight.

“I don’t try to pick fights with amateurs”

The famous Russian football player Alexander Mostovoy has been famous in recent years for sharp comments about everyone whom journalists ask him about. The negative words of the ex-player often give rise to conflict situations.

One of the most striking confrontations between Mostovoy and the eminent Russian coach Leonid Slutsky has been going on for more than seven years. For the first time, their conflict was discussed throughout the country back in 2015.

In the summer of that year, Leonid Viktorovich led the national team and helped her get through to Euro 2016. Under his leadership, the Russian team won four victories in four qualifying matches. But this did not save Slutsky from criticism from Mostovoy. The coach reacted to this with a sarcastic comment.

– I have a clear rule – do not argue with amateurs. Critics like Mostovoy are amateurs in terms of coaching. In the past – outstanding football players, no one disputes their greatness. But coaching is a completely different profession. And I’m not trying to get into picks with amateurs. I’m not interested in them,” the Euro-Futbol.Ru edition quotes Slutsky as saying.

Since then, Mostovoy has become even more angry with the specialist, trying to prick him at every opportunity. The Tsar did not forget to go hard on the figure of the coach after his departure from Rubin Kazan last year.

“I talked about him a long time ago. When he was still in CSKA and the national team combined, I even then said: “What combination can there be? We have more people in football than in any country in the world!” Do you have any other surnames? Crapped in Europe – hushed up. Again appeared somewhere, again removed, again pushed out. I came to Rubin, okay. The team flew out of the RPL – this is the moment when Slutsky had to get up and leave. He didn’t. Didn’t let go? I always say that for some reason such people are always not released. Others are expelled who have been in football all their lives, but these are not, the footballer said in an interview with Vprognoze.ru.

“Let’s be careful in expressions”

Another round of absentee exchange of reproaches between football figures occurred after the release of Slutsky’s conversation with Denis Kazansky as part of the podcast “Football is not hockey.” When the conversation turned to the coaching capabilities of Mostovoy, Leonid Viktorovich gave a very harsh assessment.

– Someone chooses things when you work, do something or produce something. Someone exploits his own name all his life and tries to assert himself at the expense of it. He chose this path. I am very sorry when the former very famous and really high-quality players turn into freaks and laughingstock with their statements and short-sighted endless actions.

You can stay with nothing. Today it seems to you that you are interesting, they call you, and it seems to be a continuation of fame, but in fact everyone perceives you as a freak. You couldn’t even keep a chic football past. I always feel sorry for these people. Once you were the best, one of the best, and today you are a talking head, and talking nonsense, said Slutsky.

Mostovoy’s response was not long in coming. The former football player responded harshly to the coach to his tirade.

Everyone has known everything about Slutsky for a long time. Let’s be careful with the expressions, because a lot of people might want to throw such expressions at him – he definitely won’t like it. Rather, his appearance fits the definition of a freak. And with his work in recent years, he himself has proved that he is a laughingstock. With this statement, he insults people who have played football and have achieved a lot. Let him try to juggle the ball at least five times and put it in “Plushki”, – quotes the words of Mostovoy “Championship”.

There is no end in sight in this conflict, on the contrary, with each turn of confrontation, the degree of tension between football leaders is getting higher. At this rate, a fight wouldn’t come as much of a surprise.
