Former head coach of Spartak Domenico Tedesco proved that he can achieve results, so there is nothing surprising in his appointment to the Belgian national team, according to ex-football player of the Russian national team Roman Shishkin.

On Wednesday, the Belgian national team announced the appointment of 37-year-old Tedesco. The agreement with the specialist is valid until 2024.

“I don’t see anything surprising in this appointment. Tedesco is a promising young coach. Domenico worked in fairly well-known teams: Spartak and Leipzig. Worked well for both clubs. He has proven that he can get things done. The Belgian national team is now undergoing a generational change. They probably just need such a young coach. If you need his services, then you have confidence in him. I wish him good luck! – said Shishkin “Championship”.

Previously, the post of head coach of the Belgian national team was held by Roberto Martinez, under whose leadership the team did not advance from the group at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

In September, Tedesco left Leipzig, with whom he won the German Cup. From 2019 to 2021, the German headed Spartak Moscow. The specialist won the RPL silver medals with the “red and white”.
