“I was sure that I was finished.” Dzyuba’s former teammate told how he survived the earthquake

Adana Demirspor forward Fredrik Gulbrandsen said he was lucky to have survived the earthquake in Turkey.

On Monday, a series of powerful earthquakes hit the southeast of Turkey. According to the latest data, the total number of deaths in the country exceeded 16.5 thousand people, and 66 thousand were injured. National mourning has been declared in the country until February 12. At the beginning of the week, it was announced that all sporting events in the country were suspended.

“I’m still in shock. I can’t describe in words how scared I was on February 6, when the ground trembled in Adana. I slept on the top floor of a high-rise building and at some point I was sure that I was finished. I thought the floor would collapse under me, I still can’t figure out how the building is still standing. Everything was shaking as if I was in a boat in the sea, in which a violent storm is seething. When I got out, I saw a lot of people running in terror from the buildings. I am very lucky.

Fortunately, I was alone in the apartment, my bride was not there. My first thought when I was safe was to be with a family that is 1,000 miles away. I have terrible memories of that night. Many, like me, do not know if the house is still standing, and if they can return there. I love football, it’s my greatest passion, but life is more important, wrote the 30-year-old Norwegian footballer on Twitter.

Russian striker Artem Dziuba played for Adana Demirspor last year, who on Wednesday became a player of Moscow Lokomotiv.
