Murad Magomedov, a former Maccabi (Petah Tikva) football player and now Israeli team coach, said that prices in Israel are comparable to those in Moscow, noting that food exported there is more expensive than abroad.

– For many years they settled down in Israel. The children grew up here. What is the standard of living in the country?

– It is difficult to compare – I have not been to Russia for many years. The only thing I can say is that Israel is a very expensive country. At prices, probably, it can only be compared with Moscow. Everything is expensive. Electrical goods, cars, everything. Gasoline in terms of shekels – $ 2 per liter. And the price keeps going up. Taxes? Just crazy. Even compared to Europe, the difference is palpable, not to mention Russia. Naturally, this affects prices. Relatively speaking, if a car costs €50,000 abroad, then here it will cost €100,000. Exactly twice as much. Entrepreneurs who are engaged in import, export, deduct huge sums to the budget. The most absurd thing is that even the food products that are exported from here are cheaper abroad than in Israel! How can this be? – said Magomedov “Championship”.

Magomedov played in Russia for the Sochi Zhemchuzhina, Torpedo from Adler, and has been living in Israel since the mid-1990s. Since 2011, he has been a member of the Maccabi coaching staff.
