“For Aris, the ransom of Kokorin will not be a problem” – Nikolay Shpilevsky
It will not be a problem for Aris to buy out the full-fledged contract of striker Alexander Kokorin from Fiorentina, Nikolai Shpilevsky, a well-known agent and father of Aris head coach, told RB Sport.
On August 31, 2022, Kokorin moved to Aris from Fiorentina on a one-year lease. On Friday, “Aris” beat “Omonia” (2:1) on the road, the Russian striker scored another assist.
“Alexander is very impressive, his mobility, dynamics, movement are impressive,” Shpilevsky admits. “I can’t even believe that it is he who does such a volume of work. With his skill, he is a defining figure, with Omonia he showed a European level of play, really stood out with deliberate actions. He had a lot of public attention from European clubs and agents. He played well. Yesterday Aris wrote history by beating Omonia away for the first time. It’s nice that Alexander took part in this and was in the leading roles. Regarding his future – it is clear that I am in contact with my son, who is the head coach – I am sure that the club would very much like to keep Kokorin. How far they will succeed, it is no longer in my competence. Aris needs him, no doubt. It is clear that this is not the guy that we sometimes read about in the press. A very serious young man who would like to have his last word in football.
– Does Aris have money for a full buyout of Kokorin from Fiorentina?
— I don’t think it will be a problem. This is not my competence, but I am sure that all this is being solved.
This season, Kokorin has played 19 matches for Aris, scoring eight goals and giving four assists.
