“It was incredible for me that I would play with the great Spartak, I didn’t even want to meet with the ball” – Sycheva

Wings of the Soviets forward Vladimir Sychevoi told Metaratings.ru why he had an unsuccessful first match against Spartak.

Sychevoi moved from Orenburg to the Samara team in the winter transfer window. In the second part of the season, the 26-year-old plans to play under the name Pisarsky.

– After all, you started the season as a substitute, after a hat-trick for Ural you burned out in a match with Spartak, for some time then you didn’t always get into the squad. What happened to you at that moment?

– The first game with the “Wings” lasted only 15 minutes for me, I did not feel anything. When I scored a hat-trick in the second match against Ural, I was confident in myself. Before the match, the coach scolded us. We with Kaplenko and Kovalev were laughing at something in the locker room. One of Marcel Lichka’s assistants said that this was unacceptable, that we should seriously tune in to the game. I think otherwise. Then I told the guys that even though I remain on the bench, I will still score when I enter the field, and we will celebrate with laughter. And so it happened. The commentator, I remember, did not understand why we are so happy.

For me it was incredible. He went to the RPL and scored a hat-trick, a great achievement in life. I, the guy who played in the yard, after this I will play with the great Spartak! But on emotions I, apparently, burned out. I was afraid to meet the ball, did not show what I was capable of. The half with Spartak turned out to be bad. I didn’t even want to meet with the ball, because there are a lot of spectators, but on the contrary, a strong team.

After this match, we had to get together. It took a couple of games to come to my senses. It turned out to be a quick journey from the top, when I made a hat-trick in the RPL, to the bottom. Played badly, faced criticism. Many said that I was lucky, these were my last goals. I’ve been both upstairs and downstairs, so in the next matches I went out without pressure.

A month after the “Ural” began to score again, it gave confidence. When I feel confident, everything goes well for me, luck comes. Even the ball comes in situations where it shouldn’t. For me, all further goals have become the norm. Just at that moment, I realized that if I go out on the field and do not score, then for me this is a bad match. Now he has moved to another team. I hope that I will score in the first match, so that there is even more confidence. I hope everything goes well, and the records will be beaten. I hope the fans will be interested in watching me.

Sychevoi scored 14 goals in the current Russian championship and shares the first place in the scorers race with Quincy Promes from Spartak.

The 2022/23 season in Russia will resume with the matches of the FONBET Cup of Russia in February, the meetings of the 18th round of the WORLD RPL will be held in early March. Broadcasts of games can be watched on the Match TV federal channel, as well as on the holding’s thematic channels and on the matchtv.ru and sportbox.ru websites.

Calls to remove Russia’s partners sound like desperation – Svishchev

Requests by Ukrainian officials to impose sanctions against Russia’s partners after the renewed admission of Russian athletes to competitions do not find understanding and seem like a gesture of desperation. This opinion was expressed by the first deputy chairman of the State Duma Committee on Physical Culture and Sports Dmitry Svishchev.

Former president of the Ukrainian Football Federation Andrei Shevchenko called for sanctions and the removal from participation in sports competitions of representatives of countries supporting Russia.

“These are already some gestures of desperation. Our athletes are increasingly allowed to participate in international competitions; there are no conflicts or boycotts. Athletes even communicate with each other, this does not bring negative consequences. The appeals of Ukrainians to remove our athletes from every part of the world no longer find understanding among appropriate sports officials. Therefore, such appeals already seem desperate,” Svishchev said.

Shevchenko made statements about the Ukraine-Sweden match in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers

UAF President Andrey Shevchenko He talked about the match against the Swedish national team in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.

“When we were drawn against Sweden we probably faced our toughest opponent. I have great respect for Swedish football, you have always had good national teams and great players.”

“It’s always difficult to face Scandinavian teams, even though you don’t qualify for the World Cup, because you have so much quality, character and identity. This is similar to us to some extent. I don’t think there are favourites. In the end it all depends on the details, the injury situation and the preparations,” said Shevchenko.

In case of victory, Ukraine will play with the winner of the Poland-Albania doubles for a ticket to the World Cup. Ukraine will play the final match at home on March 31, again conditionally.

In addition to the 12 teams that finished second in their groups, the 4 winners of the Nations League quartet will also participate in the play-offs. All 16 participants are divided into 4 paths. Each route will include a semi-final and a final. The semi-finals will be held on March 26, and the finals will be held on March 31, 2026.
