Honored coach of Russia Alexander Tarkhanov, commenting on the end of his career by Pavel Mamaev, said that he was a technical and memorable football player.
On February 11, Mamaev told Match TV about the end of his sports career. The 34-year-old midfielder has been a free agent since leaving Khimki in July 2022. In October 2018, Mamaev and Alexander Kokorin became participants in two fights in the center of Moscow, during which people were injured. For both players, the incident ended in prison terms.
– Pasha is a good footballer, technical and memorable. I liked his game, he brought his spark to the games. I think he deserved kind words after his career ended. No matter what anyone says, Mamaev was a good footballer. Perhaps at some points he was not the most disciplined, but he was good on the field.
