Rostov defender Viktor Melekhin told RB Sport how he ended up in the Don club.

– My main team was Rodina, and Vika were amateurs, for whom I played in my free time. The situation developed like this: a former Rodina employee, who is now a football agent, approached me and offered to go to Rostov for a trial. But not in the youth team, but in the 2003 team. I have already prepared. And two days before departure, they tell me: you will immediately go to the youth team. Of course, I was a little worried. Potentially moving to another city is exciting. But I still knew it was a great opportunity. I wanted to try myself on a different level.

This all happened when I was in 11th grade. Six months before exams. Mom was against it. Dad was completely supportive. Mom was more inclined to study. We found a compromise, agreed. And I went to Rostov. One. Immediately to fees. Parents stayed at home,” Melekhin said.
