Former Barcelona sporting director Eric Abidal spoke about why European clubs are interested in acquiring young players, noting that the intensity of play in the RPL WORLD is lower than in Europe’s top leagues.
According to media reports, 19-year-old Dynamo Moscow midfielder Arsen Zakharyan could have moved to London Chelsea in the summer, but the transfer did not take place due to payment problems related to sanctions.
– Whom can I single out from the Russian players? This is part of my work that I cannot disclose. But you know them. There are enough very technical and smart football players in Russia. Of course, the intensity of your football is different from European football, so in Europe we want to take young players in order to adapt them to adult football ourselves.
At a young age, they are real diamonds that need proper polishing. We want to help them grow in the best conditions that would be ideal for them. Then in the future they can become great football players, – Metaratings.ru quotes Abidal.
Former French international Abidal served as Barcelona’s sporting director from 2018 to 2020.
