CSKA striker Fedor Chalov told Sport24 what prevents him from becoming the top scorer in the WORLD RPL.
— Fedotov told me about the implementation. It’s strange to present 10 goals scored to the author for this, but do you understand that you could have scored more?
– Certainly. One hundred percent. If not in every game, then in many. If he had converted, he would have been the top scorer. Immediately in my head moment in Orenburg, for example.
– Why are you rubbing?
“Again, it’s not about laxity. And I understand what they say about implementation, but I do not agree with everything. It wasn’t always a 100% chance. Although we have to decide and such, if we want to be at the very top.
It happens like this: you don’t score one, the second. And also the score is slippery, and maybe even a draw, the team is already in a strange state. This is where mentality matters. It is necessary to press on, do what goes on – and in the end the ball will fly. Like in the first round with Ural: in the first half we had three or four super moments. We conceded, but continued, and after Oblyakov’s goal it went: we liberated ourselves, realized that the game was under our control. Then there were many examples when they also had to press.
This season, 24-year-old Chalov has played 21 games for CSKA, scoring 11 goals and providing 2 assists.
The Russian football season will resume on February 22 with the matches of the FONBET Cup of Russia, on March 3 the WORLD RPL will continue.
