Former Chelsea and Newcastle footballer Atsu found dead under rubble in Turkey – media
Hatayspor’s Ghanaian midfielder Christian Atsu has been found dead under the rubble of a house destroyed after an earthquake in Turkey, Fotomac reports citing the player’s manager Murat Uzunmehmet.
A series of earthquakes occurred on February 6 in southeastern Turkey. The victims of the disaster were tens of thousands of people in Turkey and Syria.
“Christian Atsu was found and, unfortunately, died,” said Uzunmehmet.
Previously, it was reported several times that 31-year-old Atsu was found under the rubble, but then the data was refuted.
Atsu played for Porto, Chelsea, Everton, Bournemouth, Newcastle, Vitesse and Malaga. The midfielder has over 60 caps for the Ghana national team.
