Lokomotiv will not get an advantage in the Russian Cup match with Spartak due to the absence of Promes at the training camp, Boyarintsev believes

Lokomotiv Moscow will not get an advantage over Spartak in the Russian Cup match due to the absence of striker Quincy Promes at the Red-White training camp, according to former Spartak midfielder Denis Boyarintsev.

Promes misses the red-whites’ winter training camp for personal reasons.

– It is difficult to say in what condition Spartak and Lokomotiv are approaching the game. There are a lot of changes in Lokomotiv, in the course of the off-season the team acquired new players, so there may be surprises in the starting lineup of the “railroaders”. This is a Moscow derby, so the result can be unpredictable. The game, it seems to me, will be equal, despite the different positions of the teams in the RPL standings. The winner will be difficult to predict.

– Will the absence of Promes at the training camp of Spartak give Lokomotiv an advantage?

– It will not give any advantage, not so much time has passed for Quincy and teammates to lose mutual understanding on the field. I won’t be surprised if Promes performs well in this game and can excel,” Boyarintsev told RB Sport.

On February 22, Spartak will play away with Lokomotiv in the first quarterfinal match of the upper bracket of the FONBET Cup of Russia playoffs. Watch the live broadcast on the federal channel “Match TV” and websites matchtv.ru and sportbox.ru starting from 19:30 Moscow time.

Anatoly TRUBIN: “Rebrov decided to sacrifice him”

Goalkeeper of the Ukrainian national team Anatoly Trubin I remembered the match against France (0:4) when Sergei Rebrov released the semi-reserve squad.

“It was the coach’s choice. It is always the coach who decides whether the match will be sacrificed or not. If we talk about the challenge itself, we all understand the strength of France. I understood that there could be a lot of shots, there could be a lot of chances, and I was ready for it. When the opponent is always with the ball, constantly attacking, you are always in the game: you play in sections, you react, you constantly feel the rhythm.

For me personally, it’s even easier than when your team is attacking most of the time and you’re standing idle and suddenly there’s a moment where you have to be ready,” Trubin said.
