Ex-West Ham coach returns fan’s wallet lost on subway
Former West Ham and Charlton manager Alan Curbishley has returned a purse he lost on the London Underground to a football fan.
Walsall fan Oli Swift shared the story on social media.
“It was Alan Curbishley who discovered my wallet on the London Underground and sent it to Bescot (West Madlands, where a man lives). What a man,” Swift wrote.
He also posted a photo of the note that Curbishley attached to the wallet.
— Dear Oliver. I found your wallet in the subway. I hope you didn’t get too stressed out. Best regards, Alan Curbishley, the note says.
The tweet was viewed 500 thousand times, many users expressed admiration for the coach’s act.
Curbishley played for West Ham, Birmingham City, Aston Villa, Charlton and Brighton. After his retirement, he switched to coaching, led Charlton (1991-2006) and West Ham (2006-2008).
