The Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp shared his opinion on the Champions League match against Real Madrid (2:5).
The start was great. It was our essence. It turned out perfect, that’s how we wanted to perform. The whole first half wasn’t bad, not counting the goals conceded. The first goal we conceded made us a bit passive, we didn’t chase them. The second goal is a farce. It shouldn’t happen, but it can happen, 2:2.
Then the score became 2:3, which is not very good against a team that plays well on the counterattack. We were never able to recover. We had to play the full 95 minutes like in the first half, we had to restore the momentum. When the score was 2:3, it was the other way around. The size of the free space on the third goal is surprising, but it happened. We will go to Madrid and play there. This will be a big challenge. But first we have to play in the Premier League and make sure we learn from this encounter.
