Zenit head coach Sergei Semak is doing a fantastic job and could lead a European team in the future, according to former Zenit defender Fernando Meira.
– I think Semak will become the coach of the European team in the future. He’s doing a fantastic job on the team right now. I know him as a player, as a person. He has amazing human qualities, excellent relationships with the players. He is, of course, a natural leader.
I don’t know for sure what he is like as a coach, but I am confident in his human qualities and ability to put together a good team. As a coach, you have to work well not only on the field, but also outside it. You are responsible for the team, for the atmosphere. Semak is very good in this direction,” Meira told Metaratings.ru.
Semak is a five-time champion of Russia as a player. As a coach, he led Zenit to victory in the Russian Premier League four times.
