Former Spartak player Gavrilov negatively assessed Dziuba’s debut for Lokomotiv
Former footballer of Spartak and the USSR national team Yuri Gavrilov said that he was not impressed by the game of striker Artem Dziuba for Moscow Lokomotiv.
Dzyuba was recognized as the best player in the first match with Spartak in the quarterfinals of the FONBET Cup of Russia. The meeting took place at the RZD Arena on Wednesday and ended with a score of 1:0 in favor of the Red-Whites. Dziuba played the first official match for Lokomotiv, he entered the starting lineup and remained on the field until the final whistle. In the winter transfer window, the striker signed a contract with the Red-Greens as a free agent until the end of the season.
– He had two chances in the whole game: the post and a miss on an empty net with his left foot. Failed, in short. In the first moment, he played great, pushed Denisov in the back, thereby facilitating his access to the ball, but he could have scored in this situation!
As for the rest of the game, he didn’t make any impression on me. And these two moments, by and large, are random, – Gazeta.Ru quoted Gavrilov as saying.
The return match between Spartak and Lokomotiv in the Cup will take place on Monday, February 27.
