Lokomotiv striker Artem Dzyuba wants to return to the leading positions he was in a few years ago, according to the former forward of the Russian national team, Spartak and Lokomotiv Dmitry Sychev.

Dzyuba was recognized as the best player in the first match with Spartak in the quarterfinals of the FONBET Cup of Russia. The meeting took place at the RZD Arena on Wednesday and ended with a score of 1:0 in favor of the Red-Whites. Dziuba played the first official match for Lokomotiv, he entered the starting lineup and remained on the field until the final whistle. In the winter transfer window, the striker signed a contract with the Red-Greens as a free agent until the end of the season.

– Dzyuba’s ambitions and experience should help Lokomotiv. Artem wants to return to the top positions he was in a few years ago and prove that he is a quality player. Will it work? In any case, it will be interesting to watch it,” Sychev told RB Sport.

The return match between Spartak and Lokomotiv in the Cup will take place on Monday, February 27.
