The Russian national football team will play a friendly match with the Iranian team in Tehran on March 23.
– The RFU and the Iranian Football Federation agreed on the date of the friendly match of the national teams. The game is scheduled for March 23 in Tehran. At the moment, the parties are completing the preparation and approval of all the necessary documents and details of the meeting, Match TV was told with reference to the communications service of the RFU.
At the end of February 2022, FIFA and UEFA suspended Russian teams and clubs from participating in international tournaments due to the situation in Ukraine. After these decisions, Valery Karpin’s team played three guest friendly matches in the fall – with Kyrgyzstan (2: 1), Tajikistan (0: 0) and Uzbekistan (0: 0).
