Sochi forward Georgy Melkadze told RB Sport that he considers Spartak the only rival of Zenit in the fight for the championship in the WORLD RPL at the moment.

– Six months ago, you said that CSKA and Spartak could fight Zenit in the RPL. The first part of the season is over. Is it even possible to fight it?

– Of course available. Another 13 rounds ahead – that’s 39 potential points, no one bothers you to win every match. If CSKA wins all the matches, then Zenit will lose points anyway. This is very difficult to do, but everything is possible.

– Now Spartak is the only competitor of Zenit?

– At the moment – yes.

Melkadze is a graduate of the Moscow “Spartak”. The forward played in Tosno, Tambov and Akhmat. In 2022, he moved to Sochi.

The 25-year-old has made 18 appearances this season, scoring 5 goals and 2 assists.
