Midfielder “Sochi” Joaozinho admitted that he was sincerely glad to receive Russian citizenship by Brazilian football players “Zenith” Malcolm and Claudinho.
On Friday, February 24, Malcolm and Claudinho received Russian citizenship by decree of Russian President Vladimir Putin. Malcom has been playing for Zenit since 2019, Claudinho since 2021.
– This is the choice of Malcolm and Claudinho, which I once made too. They decided to obtain Russian citizenship, and I, as a Russian, am sincerely glad that they made such a choice,” Joaoozinho told Sport24.
Joaozinho received Russian citizenship in August 2016.
