Rangelovic called his move to Ural from Olympiacos a risky decision

Serbian Ural winger Lazar Rangelovic admitted to Sport24 that he decided to move to the Yekaterinburg club from Olympiacos because he wanted to change something.

In September last year, Randjelovic moved to Ural from Greek Olympiacos, signing a 2-year contract.

– It was Gancharenko who insisted on your transition?

— Yes, we called each other. When a coach addresses you directly before a transfer, it’s something special. Gives confidence. After that conversation, I did not think for a long time and went to Russia.

– In the worst RPL team at that time.

Yes, everyone warned me. Understand, I could have stayed at Olympiacos. But I wanted to change something. I don’t know why. Probably just wanted to play more. I went on loan to Spain and even after it I got time, but it didn’t seem to me that it would last long.

Of course, choosing Ural was a risk. But, firstly, I understood that there would be more practice here. Secondly, I heard positive things about the RPL from those who played here. For example, from Yann M’Vil and Hwang Im Bum from Olympiacos. They made my confidence in Russia 200 percent. Thirdly, Gancharenko was recommended to me, told about his work in CSKA and Krasnodar.

Randjelovic, 25, has made 15 appearances for Ural this season, scoring 3 goals and providing 4 assists.
