On Monday, Paris will host the awards ceremony of the International Football Federation (FIFA) at the end of the year.
The Best FIFA Football Awards 2022 will be broadcast live on Match TV and Match! Football 3, starts at 23:00 Moscow time.
Awards will be given in several categories. Real Madrid forward Karim Benzema, Paris Saint-Germain strikers Lionel Messi (Argentina) and Kylian Mbappe (France) were shortlisted for the title of best player.
The top three nominees for the title of best coach were: Carlo Ancelotti (Real Madrid, Italy), Josep Guardiola (Manchester City, Spain) and Lionel Scaloni (Argentina national team, Argentina).
The title of the best goalkeeper will be challenged by Yassin Bunu (Sevilla, Morocco), Thibaut Courtois (Real Madrid, Belgium), Emiliano Martinez (Aston Villa, Argentina).
Three contenders in other categories:
best female player of the year: Beth Mead (Arsenal, England), Alex Morgan (San Diego Wave, USA), Alexia Putellas (Barcelona, Spain).
Women’s Coach of the Year: Sonia Bompastor (Lyon, France), Pia Sundhage (Brazil, Sweden), Sarina Wigman (England, Netherlands).
The winner of the Ferenc Puskas award, which is awarded to the author of the most beautiful goal, will also be determined. In addition, the best action of the fans will be celebrated, the symbolic teams of the year according to FIFA and the FIFPro trade union in men’s and women’s football will be determined.
Last year, the award for the best player of the year was received by Poland striker Robert Lewandowski, then playing for Bayern.
