Former Ufa defender Yuri Zhuravlev, who now plays for Torpedo, told RB Sport that he had an option to go on loan to Zenit St. Petersburg.
The footballer played for Ufa from July 2021 to July 2022.
“An agent told me that after I moved to Ufa and played six games there, Zenit wanted to rent me,” said Zhuravlev. – Shamil Kamilovich Gazizov did not let go, because I would not play there. I had just moved from the FNL, played six matches and was “raw” for Zenit.
– Isn’t it a shame that you missed the chance to get into a top club?
Maybe this is not a missed opportunity. Maybe it’s still ahead. I’m not 40 years old, I’m not ending my career. I didn’t know about that option at the time. What is there to regret about him now?
Zhuravlev, 26, has made 18 appearances this season, scoring goals and assists.
On Sunday, Torpedo in the away match of the ¼ finals of the FONBET Way of Regions of the Russian Cup lost to Togliatti Akron with a score of 0:2 and flew out of the tournament.
