In the British city of Great Yarmouth, they came up with an original way to deal with cigarette butts on the ground in public places.
Facet, a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting businesses to make cost-effective changes that are better for the environment, has funded so-called ballot boxes to recycle cigarette butts. These ballot boxes offer to “vote” in determining the best football player in the world between Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.
“The number of cigarette butts on the floor is usually reduced from twenty to one or two,” 24 EDP cites the words of one of the owners of the establishment in which these urns were installed.
