“Zuev will not have time to get a passport of Kazakhstan before the matches of the national team in March” – Adiev

Midfielder Alexander Zuev will not have time to obtain Kazakh citizenship by the March games of the national team, the head coach of the Kazakhstan national team Magomed Adiev told RB Sport.

Earlier it became known that Zuev is in the process of obtaining a passport of Kazakhstan. Last winter, the midfielder moved from Khimki to Samara’s Wings of the Soviets.

– It is clear that Zuev has no prospects of obtaining citizenship for the March games of the national team, – said Adiev. – He won’t make it.

– Can you make it to the next matches?

– When he receives citizenship, then we will think. I know that the process is going on, but at what stage I don’t know. The Federation has already said that no one will be artificially granted citizenship.

– Do you know if he has a desire to play for the national team of Kazakhstan or a passport is made only for citizenship?

– As I understand it, there is a desire. Its representatives spoke about it even earlier.

The national team of Kazakhstan on March 23 and 26 will play matches of the qualifying round for Euro 2024 against the teams of Slovenia and Denmark, respectively.

Zuev was born in Kazakhstan, in the city of Kostanay, where he played football in the Tobol system. In 2005, the Zuev family moved to Chelyabinsk, Russia.
