Former Russian footballer Alexander Mostovoy told Euro-Futbol.Ru that he was struck by the terrible game of PSG against Bayern in the Champions League round of 16 match.
On March 8, Bayern beat the Parisians 2-0. In the first game on the field of the French team, Bayern also achieved a victory – 1: 0.
– I’m just seething with the helplessness of such a PSG. It’s just a complete failure. We didn’t score a single goal in two games, having such a line-up. Their game is just terrible. The club spends billions on players. And the best in this team is Sergio Ramos, who will soon be 37 years old. If not for him, there would be much more than 2-0. It’s just awful. Verratti was the biggest disappointment, a player of this caliber shouldn’t make such a mistake. Especially when the score is 0:0. You can just knock the ball out, why bother around your goal there. I’ve always liked Verratti, but you can’t make such gross mistakes.
PSG have such stars in attack, and they simply did not create anything. They had a moment and a half there. And then Yann Sommer brought it there at one point. Messi was kind of nailed down. Somehow he was not himself. Like on the field, but like not. As if playing, but thinking about something else. It was clear that he walked a lot and simply did not help the team.
Bayern played well. There are strong players to replace them. When, in fact, the result of the match is already clear, Mane and Sane came on as replacements. Some kind of power comes from Bayern. What I noticed was that the PSG players were very bad at building their bodies. Verratti flew off, Vitinho too. Ruiz can barely walk. In the middle of the field there was just horror – they play “you – to me, I – to you.” They all flew away from Mueller. I am simply amazed at such a terrible game by PSG,” Mostovoy said.
