Former Spartak footballer Andrey Yeshchenko said that he is waiting for the upcoming friendly matches of the Russian national team with the teams of Iran and Iraq, which are very important for the national team.
– I will wait for the matches of the national team with Iran and Iraq. These are very important matches for us. Team play is always an important event. It does not happen that the game of the national team can be unimportant, regardless of the status of the opponent. This is very necessary for all Russian football,” Yeshchenko told Sport24.
A friendly game between the national teams of Iran and Russia is scheduled for March 23 in Tehran. The meeting should take the country’s largest stadium “Azadi” (78 116 spectators). Mohammed Imad, spokesman for the Iraqi national team, told Sport24 earlier that a friendly game with the Russian national team would be held in St. Petersburg.
